Renan Barao-Michael McDonald On Tap For 2013

Renan Barao will defend his interim UFC bantamweight title, and it will be against Michael McDonald. UFC Tonight confirmed that the bout will happen in 2013.

Dominick Cruz, the reigning UFC bantamweight champion, has been forced to undergo a second surgery on his injured knee. Cruz is expected to be sidelined for nearly another year.

Barao won the interim title when he bested Urijah Faber after stepping in for Cruz. McDonald has not fought since early in 2012 when he knocked out Miguel Torres.

No date or location for the scheduled fight has been announced by the UFC.
