Tyson Griffin's (16-6) decision to drop down to a featherweight cost him, as he lost four of his last five UFC fights. He was then released."I was trying a lot of new things out and I don't think a lot of those new things helped me," said Griffin on MMA Weekly Radio. "I'm going to go back and do what I did that got me to the top in the first place and see what happens."
After the release and with no passion to train at Xtreme Couture anymore, Griffin made the decision to go over to American Kickboxing Academy.
"I feel like AKA has got that same atmosphere and that same kind of mentality," said Griffin. "So, I feel like it's a great new start and a great place to get back on the winning track and put a win streak together."
In his first post-fight for Resurrection Fighting Alliance 4, Griffin took the unanimous decision win after a year layoff. He hopes to compete inside the UFC's Octagon again.
"I think the end of the game is to compete against the best in the world," said Griffin.
