Jake Shields Signs With Paradigm MMA Management
By Dana Becker | November 26, 2012
Former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields has signed with Paradigm MMA Management. Shields' father, who passed away last year, had served as his manager."I am extremely dedicated to my career, improving as a fighter and once again becoming world champion," said Shields, in a press release. "I feel that the support of Paradigm's team will allow me to best accomplish my personal and professional goals."
Shields is 27-6-2 and a former contender to the UFC welterweight title. He moved up to middleweight earlier this year, defeating Ed Herman. The result, however, was changed to a no-contest after Shields failed the post-fight drug test.
The press release quoted Paradigm president Audie Attar as saying, "(Shields) is poised to make a huge come back in the welterweight division," which could mean he is headed back to 170 pounds upon his return to action.
