MMA Veteran Rich Clementi Retires From Fighting
By Dana Becker | November 20, 2012
"Well, I guess this day had to come some time," Clementi posted on Facebook. "Just wish it could have been on my terms but then again we all know that wouldn't have happened because I would have always wanted just one more time under those lights."
Clementi added that he is "so grateful for the things this sport has taught me. The friends, experiences and most of all learning who I am. I am so lucky to have a platform to share these experiences and help others try to reach their dreams."
Clementi last fought in the UFC in 2009, falling to Gleison Tibau. During a six-fight win streak between 2007-08, Clementi topped Anthony Johnson, Melvin Guillard, Sam Stout and Terry Etim inside the Octagon.
Future plans include continued involvement with his students at Rich Clementi's Gladiator Gym in Louisiana.
