Firas Zahabi: GSP-Anderson Silva Should Take Place At 170 Pounds

Firas Zahabi, the trainer for UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, believes a potential super-fight with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva should take place at 170 pounds. Zahabi recently appeared on The MMA Hour to discuss his reasoning.

"I wouldn't want (GSP) to move up, I'd want Anderson to come down," Zahabi said. "I don't know if Anderson can make 170 or something close to that. If Georges goes up, I know he won't be able to come back down. He's told me many times if he goes up he won't go back down, and I believe him."

Silva's manager, Ed Soares, has talked about a catch-weight bout going down, but it appears that might not be enough to interest St-Pierre.

Zahabi claimed that if the fight takes place anywhere above 170, Silva would "balloon up over 200 (the next day), and I don't think that's fair."
