John Maguire Venturing To Middleweight After Second Straight Setback
By Dana Becker | November 19, 2012
John Maguire, fresh off a loss to Matt Riddle at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit, has announced he will move to middleweight after competing inside the Octagon at welterweight.
"Getting on the plane and yes I'm going back to middleweight!:)" Maguire posted on Twitter.
Maguire (18-5) won both of his first two UFC fights, but has lost by decision to John Hathaway and Riddle this past year, prompting the return to middleweight.
The British-born fighter is a former UCMMA welterweight champion and owns 10 submission victories in his career.
