Tachi Palace Fights Crowns Vacant Light Heavyweight Championship

Angel DeAnda (11-2) took home the vacant Tachi Palace Fights light heavyweight championship after the referee stopped his fight against Anthony Ruiz (29-18) in the third round. The two headlined TPF 15 Collision Course from the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in California.

"He just wasn't giving up," said DeAnda to Sherdog. "If it wasn't for [referee Jason] McCoy, we'd probably still be fighting."

It was DeAnda's fourth win a row and second while under the TPF name. Ruiz has fought off and on for TPF since their inception in 2009. He won his first two fights for the organization before dropping the last three. He now is riding an overall two fight losing streak.

DeAnda is already looking to defend his newly won champion and is ready for anyone.

"Whatever they put in front of me," said DeAnda. "I'm ready for the challenge."

The next TPF show has not been announced.
