Ronda Rousey's Manager Disputes Claims Cris Cyborg Can't Drop To 135

Darin Harvey, the manager for Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, doesn't believe Cris Cyborg's "doctor's note" saying she cannot drop to 135 pounds without possible complications down the road. Harvey explained his reasons in an interview with Yahoo! Sports.

"If you ask five doctors, you'll get five different opinions. I guarantee you, you can find doctors that'll say the weight cut will be find. It all depends on what side they're working for," Harvey said. "I don't want to see anyone get hurt long-term....but my personal belief is she can lose the weight. She would just prefer an advantage to fight at 145 pounds, and I think we have the advantage at 135."

Cyborg was suspended following a failed post-fight drug test. She remains unable to seek her fight license until 2013, so there is still plenty of time for the sides to work something out.

A report released earlier this week claimed that doctors informed Cyborg's team that she could do damage causing it impossible for her to have a child down the road. That, the team said, is something Cyborg would not risk for a fight with Rousey.

Rousey, meanwhile, has remained quiet on talk of a move to the UFC. Nothing has been made official regarding such a transation since word broke last week that Strikeforce was folding and that the former Olympian had signed with the UFC.
