Johny Hendricks Only Concerned With Win, Not Potential Title Shot, At UFC 154

For Johny Hendricks, a win over Martin Kampmann would likely mean a future shot at the UFC welterweight title. However, that hasn't been determined yet, and likely won't be before the two 170-pounders step inside the Octagon Saturday night at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit.

While Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit battle it out in the main event, Hendricks and Kampmann will each be trying to position themselves as the top contender in the division. Hendricks (13-1) has won eight of his nine UFC fights, but nothing has been promised to "Bigg Rigg.'"

"It's out of my control," said Hendricks, during a recent interview on MMAjunkie.com Radio. "The only thing I can control is how I fight that night. Then I can start making my case."

UFC president Dana White has been asked if the Hendricks-Kampmann winner would become the No. 1 contender, and even he is unsure at this point. Rumors of GSP facing Anderson Silva in a super-fight with a win would take precedent over a welterweight title match.

"It doesn't matter how or with what (I win); just get the 'W,' and then we can start working for something else," Hendricks said. "The way I look at it. To sit there and worry about all that stuff, you start putting more pressure on yourself."
