Urijah Faber (26-6) has juggled being a featherweight and bantamweight fighter, but when he returns inside the Octagon don't expect a drop to the new flyweight division. After failing in a chance to crown an interim bantamweight champion in July, Faber has remained out of action with a broken rib. It also made Faber's fifth loss in a row that involved a championship. He is the former WEC Featherweight Champion, which he defended successfully five times.
When asked if he would return as competitor in the newly created flyweight division, Faber had no interest in needing to cut more weight.
"No way," said Faber on UFC Tonight. "I put on 18 pounds last night, and I would probably not be here if I was trying to get to 125. No, 135 pounds is where I'll be."
Faber said he hopes to return in early 2013 and is looking to fight at UFC 156 on February 2.
