Chris Weidman gave MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani a tour of the devastation that Hurricane Sandy caused on the East Coast and his home recently. Weidman, who stayed through the storm to try and keep his family house in as good of shape as possible, is still planning to face Tim Boetsch in December at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II."Right now, that's not even a thought," said Weidman, when asked if he was thinking about pulling out of the bout. "I don't even have it in me to think about that. There's not a part of me that wants to, but I'm not gonna say that there's not a chance."
Weidman continued, saying, "my family is in a tough spot right now. There's a lot of stuff that needs to be done and if I need to focus on getting my house back together....I don't know. I really don't know what's gonna happen."
Weidman is coming off a victory over Mark Munoz and was hoping to receive a title shot vs. Anderson Silva. The Weidman-Boetsch winner could go a long way in calling themselves the No. 1 contender at 185 pounds.
