UFC 153: Phil Davis Vs. Wagner Prado

Phil Davis vs. Wagner PradoWe have a rematch up next, as light heavyweights Phil Davis (9-1) and Wagner Prado (8-0) take to the Octagon. Their first bout was declared a no-contest after an eye poke by Davis. The referee will be Marc Goddard.
Round 1: Prado is very amped up, maybe a little too much, but we'll see. Davis doing a nice job of controlling the Octagon and changing levels early. Head-kick by Prado is partially blocked by Davis. Davis ducks under a punch and takes Prado down, landing some quick lefts as Prado tries to grab the loose arm. Prado wall-walking to get up, and is able to for a brief second. However, Davis takes the back as Prado grabs on to the fence to try and stay up. Davis with a hook in, goes to the front, and powers Prado back down to the canvas hard. Prado was warned several times about grabbing the cage. Prado tries to get up, but Davis grabs the ankle and takes him back down, landing a huge right, and another to the top - maybe back - of the head. The crowd is booing the second shot, but they are Brazilian:) Prado to his feet and Davis grabs hold of him and slams him back down the mat, making him a perfect 3-for-3 in the round on takedowns.

Round 2: Prado with a pair of kicks to start, as Davis fires off a spinning kick of his own. Jumping knee by Davis misses, but he grabs a leg and goes for the takedown. Prado fights it off as they pummel along the fence. Davis drops down and gets the takedown this time. Davis controlling Prado with his excellent wrestling skills. Just over two minutes left in the round, as Davis blocks a head-kick attempt by Prado. Nice combo from Davis, as he drops down and grabs a double-leg takedown. Elbow to the face by Davis, and another, as he goes to work on the body of Prado. Davis going for an arm triangle with just under a minute to go, tightening the grip but Prado gets out. Davis hold the neck and rolls into an anaconda choke this time, getting the quick submission as Prado is visibly upset.
