UFC 153: Luiz Cane Vs. Chris Camozzi

Luiz Cane vs. Chris CamozziWe head to the middleweight ranks next, as Luiz Cane (12-4) battles Chris Camozzi (17-5). The referee will be Mark Goddard.
Round 1: A pair of southpaws exchange, with Camozzi throwing some nice rights to start. Quick elbow by Camozzi to the face of Cane. Another elbow as Cane tries to tie up. Cane grabs a hold of Camozzi and takes his back, getting his hooks in and looking for a rear-naked choke. Cane is working hard for the choke, squeezing on Camozzi's head. Cane with a pair of rights, trying to loosen up but Camozzi is able to get out, eating a knee on the way up. Knee to the body by Camozzi with just over a minute to go. Stiff body shot by Camozzi, as Cane comes in with an overhand left. Inside leg kick by Cane connects. Camozzi comes in and lands a kick and pair of jabs to Cane.

Round 2: Camozzi has Cane pinned against the fence, landing a pair of nice rights. The second time, however, Cane catches him with a counter coming in. Cane with a pair of wild strikes that miss. Stiff kick to the lead leg of Cane by Camozzi. Cane hurts Camozzi with a kick to the leg, as he flinches in pain as we go under three minutes. Head-kick blocked by Cane. Body shot by Camozzi after a left lands. Camozzi comes flying in again, and eats a counter by Cane. Camozzi with a nice right uppercut and follows with a knee that sends Cane running. Camozzi shoots in but is denied. Camozzi lands a big left to finish the round strong.

Round 3: Another counter lands by Cane, as Camozzi fires off an inside leg kick and a straight left combo to answer. Cane trying to get on track, bouncing around, as he tries to finish Camozzi. However, Camozzi doing a great job of landing combos to single strikes by Cane. Straight right lands by Camozzi, who has landed 27 more strikes than Cane right now. Counter right this time by Camozzi as Cane comes in and drops his hands. Camozzi lands a nice pair of strikes, as Cane seems to have heavy feet in his middleweight debut. Camozzi comes in and connects with a series of blows, fending off a takedown attempt by Cane. Ninety seconds to go, as Cane answers with a body shot. Cane lands a huge straight left that sends Camozzi to the fence, but Cane is unable to follow up. Cane goes for another takedown but is denied by Camozzi, who answers with a left.
