Vinicius Queiroz (5-2) is out to prove that his last fight, back at UFC 120, was not an example of who he is.In his UFC debut, Queiroz was submitted in round three. He later tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol and was released from the promotion.
"While I was training for the fight in Brazil, I was given some nutritional supplements by a friend," said Queiroz to MMA Junkie. "Part of the problem is that I couldn't afford my own supplements, so I accepted these as a present. The failed test showed very tiny amounts of steroids. If I was really taking PEDs, it would have to be a lot more for it to have any effect."
While away from action the last two years, Queiroz has undergone knee surgery and relocated his training camp to Team Nogueira.
He returns to action to take on Mark Holata (12-3) in the quarterfinals to crown the Bellator Season 7 heavyweight tournament winner.
"My goal is to win the heavyweight tournament and defend the Bellator belt," said Queiroz.
