Featherweight Mark Hominick (20-11) knows his next fight may be his last for the UFC if he doesn't win, as he is currently riding a three fight losing streak."There is no question, I have to get back on the winning track," said Hominick. "I have to prove why I still feel I'm one of the best in the division. I'm going back to where it all began. "Now it's time to kind of begin my career again."
Hominick's losing streak began when José Aldo (21-1) defeated him in the inaugural UFC Featherweight Championship fight. The match was followed by defeats to Jung Chan-Sung (13-3) and Eddie Yagin (16-5-1).
"In the last two fights I was so focused on winning," said Hominick. "I had to re-evaluate and figure out why I was getting the short end of the stick."
Pablo Garza (11-3), who is also on a two fight losing streak for the UFC, will challenge Hominick next.
"I'm motivated to carry on this legacy," said Hominick. "The way I do that is to go out there and win. That's the main thing, going out there and making my statements in the ring."
Hominick vs. Garza takes place at UFC 154 on November 17.
