UFC's Long-Term Goal: World Cup Of The Ultimate Fighter
By Dana Becker | June 12, 2012
UFC president Dana White continued to talk about a future where several countries compete against one another to earn the title of The Ultimate Fighter. During a kickoff press conference for UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II on Tuesday, White mentioned the plans once again."We working towards (a World Cup of TUF)," White said. "Right now, we have Brazil and the U.S. Both our matchmakers are over in Australia right now (working on TUF: The Smashes). As we continue to (have international shows), we will line it up so that they all start around the same time with the winners facing each other. That's the long-term goal; to end with one champion."
TUF: The Smashes will feature Australia vs. the United Kingdom. A second season of TUF: Brazil is in the works, and of course, the show will continue to run in the U.S.
