Michael Bisping Goes Under The Knife On Wednesday

As part of the UFC's seemingly never-ending streak of injuries, Michael Bisping tore his meniscus and was forced out of a planned July bout against Tim Boetsch.

It was being reported that the accomplished Brit would be going under the knife today to correct the issue, but The Count himself revealed via Twitter that he won't be on the operating table until midweek.

Depending on the severity of the tear (which doctors often cannot assess until the knee has been scoped), Bisping could be out of action for a few weeks to few months. He recently indicated to FightersOnly that he only expects to be out for a matter of weeks.

Bisping was to face Boetsch at UFC 149, which will take place on July 21 in Calgary, Alberta, but Hector Lombard has been brought in as a replacement. Lombard was to face Brian Stann at UFC on Fox 4 in August, but Stann was forced out of that fight with a separated shoulder.
