UFC On FOX 3: Dennis Bermudez Vs. Pablo Garza

Bermudez shoots in immediately behind an overhand right. Garza grabs his neck, but doesn't pull anything off. Garza gets to his feet, but Bermudez keeps him pinned to the wall. Garza very active from his back, threatening to reverse position or set up a submission. Bermudez controlling from the top though. Garza nails Bermudez with two mean up-kicks. Bermudez backs out, stunned, but shoots in again before Garza can do anything. Garza gets to his feet and gets in some decent strikes before Bermudez picks him up with the high crotch and dumps him to the mat with ease.

Round 2: Bermudez closes the distance early, grating Garza against the fence. Bermudez keeping this one ugly, preventing Garza from working his range. Bermudez with a big takedown. Bermudez controlling from the top again, advancing position on Garza and working ground and pound. Garza doing well in keeping Bermudez's posture in check. Garza again manages to work to his feet, but he's only there briefl before Bermudez throws him to the mat. Garza establishes half guard, but Bermudez shuts down any offense. Bermudez hits another takedown before the bell.

Round 3: Bermudez digs in with some punches and tries to fire a jumping knee; he's far from the mark. He gets in close on Garza and dumps him to the mat forcefully though, going back to work with ground and pound. Garza is very solid off of his back, but Bermudez is continually shutting him down. Three minutes to go and Bermudez seems to have established how the rest of the fight will play out. The ref stands them up after a period of inactivity. Bermudez immediately ducks under some punches and hits the takedown. Bermudez defends a takedown and ends up on top, taking half guard. Garza working up-kicks, but Bermudez is hip to it. Just over a minute to go and Bermudez takes mount. Bermudez softening up Garza with punches, forcing him to roll so that he can take his back. Bermudez going for the rear naked choke. Thirty seconds to go and Garza is defending well. Garza survives.
