Jacob Volkmann-Paul Sass Planned For UFC 146
By Dana Becker | February 21, 2012
UFC 146 is expected to feature a UFC heavyweight championship match between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem. Volkmann-Sass would likely be part of the prelim event for the card, though nothing has been made official.
Volkmann, a three-time NCAA Div. I All-American while at the University of Minnesota, holds a 14-2 record. He has won five straight fights inside the Octagon since back-to-back losses against Paulo Thiago and Martin Kampmann.
Sass (12-0) is 2-0 in his UFC career, including a pair of submission victories over Michael Johnson and Mark Holst. He has earned submission wins in all but one of his 12 career victories.
