Nick Diaz Announces His Retirement At UFC 143

Nick Diaz Announces His Retirement At UFC 143 Nick Diaz has always been a very interesting personality in MMA. Saturday night, following a decision loss to Carlos Condit in the main event of UFC 143 that cost him a chance at the interim UFC welterweight title, Diaz announced that he is leaving the sport.

"I think I'm done with this MMA," Diaz said. "I've had a great career and it's been a good time. I don't need this (expletive)."

Condit was able to avoid taking any major strikes from Diaz, surviving a late submission attempt by the former Strikeforce welterweight champion. Diaz believed he won the fight based on his always-pushing-forward pace.

"I pushed the guy backwards. He ran from me the whole time," Diaz said. "He leg kicked me the whole fight. I don't want to play this game no more. I'm out of this (expletive)."

Diaz has talked about a potential career in boxing before, so it is possible that he takes up that profession now. With Diaz, only time will tell what the Stockton, California fighter decides to do.
