Josh Koscheck: 'Hopefully (GSP) Never Comes Back'

It took Josh Koscheck several months to return after suffering a broken orbital bone in his championship fight with Georges St-Pierre. After defeating Matt Hughes in his latest bout, Koscheck is now just days away from meeting Mike Pierce Saturday night at UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit.Having fought St-Pierre and lost, it is quite obvious why Koscheck has no problems with GSP sitting on the sidelines. The main event for UFC 143 will crown an interim champion in St-Pierre's place, as Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit battled for the UFC welterweight title.
"I'm interested in the outcome of the Diaz vs. Condit fight. Should be a good fight," said Koscheck in a recent interview with MMAFighting.com. "Hopefully, Georges is out for more than 10 months and they can make that interim titleholder fight twice. Hopefully, he never comes back. ACL surgeries can take a lot out of you. Hopefully, it equals out the playing field and we can get another crack at Georges."
With co-main event billing, the winner of Koscheck-Pierce could go a long way in determining who the next contender is to the UFC welterweight title if St-Pierre is forced out for the rest of the year.
As a reminder, FightLine will have complete coverage of UFC 143, including ongoing play-by-play of every fight. Remember to check back Saturday for all your MMA news.
