MFC Confirms Release Of Antonio McKee, Brian Cobb

Maximum Fighting Championship owner and president Mark Pavelich said he would make a firm statement in regards to Antonio McKee and Brian Cobb not making weight for their recent match at MFC 32: Bitter Rivals. Pavelich stayed true to his words, confirming their release from the company.

"I was thoroughly disgusted by the lack of professionalism that Antonio McKee showed towards the belt he was scheduled to defend," said Pavelich, in a statement released recently. "It was unacceptable behavior for a champion to demonstrate. Antonio never really apologized for missing weight that badly. That was the end of things for him with the MFC."

McKee, who was stripped of the title for missing weight by seven pounds, went on to defeat Cobb. Pavelich said if Cobb, who missed weight by one-half pound, lost the fight, he would also be cut.

"It's disappointing to have to release Brian as he is a tremendous character person," Pavelich said.

The fight promotion also announced the release of James Haddad, who was two pounds overweight and lost to Dan Ring.
