Nick Diaz Forgives St. Pierre, Sets Sights On Carlos Condit

Hotheaded welterweight, Nick Diaz says he's not mad at George St. Pierre for withdrawing from their fight at UFC 143 with a knee injury.

Diaz spoke with MMA H.E.A.T.'s Karyn Bryant about GSP's injury and his preparation for the newly scheduled interim championship against Carlos Condit on January 4.

"It's only sooner or later before one of these guys is not going to make it through camp. You're lucky to make it too," remarked Diaz. "I can understand what it must be like, you know, being injured for real and everybody's like 'hey you're scared.' You know, it's not what it seems."

News of GSP's injury came on December 7 after Dana White reported that the current champ had torn his ACL and would be out for ten months, derailing his fight with Diaz. Surprisingly enough, the Stockton native appears to be taking the news in stride and is training intensively for his match against Condit.

When Bryant caught up with the No 2 ranked welterweight, he was working with Strikeforce contender Ronda Rousey. Rousey, the Judo expert and Diaz, a jiu-jitsu black belt appeared to be benefitting from each other's disciplines.

"I've been doing my best to try and get in as much Judo practice as I can. And you know, hanging out with her (Rousey) for a minute and any top level judo person I'm going to sit there, right at them and ask and ask and find little tricks or something that's going to help me. Right now that's the really big aspect of the sport that I try and dip into and learn more."
