UFC Responds To Website Hack

Though the SOPA and PIPA internet censorship/piracy prevention bills have been protested by everyone from Google to Wikipedia, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has remained in support of the controversial bills as part of their slightly obsessive battle against internet piracy.Fortunately, the bills have been defeated for now, but that didn't prevent a hacker from hijacking the UFC's main website this weekend and redirecting it to the website address UGNazi.com. With many UFC.com visitors -- specifically those who've used their credit cards on the site -- worried over the possible compromise of their information, the fight promotion released a statement addressing the hack via MMAFighting.
On Sunday, January 22nd, the UFC.com website was redirected by a criminal hacker to another website. The UFC website was quickly restored to the control of the UFC, and there is no evidence suggesting that any confidential information belonging to the company or its customers was compromised by the re-direction of the website. UFC representatives are continuing to investigate the matter and are working with law enforcement agents to prosecute those involved.
UFC president Dana White's personal feelings on the website hack were slightly less comforting to those users who're worried about the security of their information.
"I'm in the fight biz not the website biz," wrote the UFC boss. "Who gives a s***!?"
