The Daily Line: Ronda Rousey Slams Cyborg Santos

It was recently announced that Ronda Rousey would be dropping to bantamweight to challenge Meisha Tate for the Strikeforce women's bantamweight title. It was also recently announced that former Strikeforce women's featherweight champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos had been busted for steroids, having failed her Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal pre-fight drug test for Winstrol.

Though she's happy to fight Tate for the title - something she successfully campaigned for last year - Rousey always had her eye on a bout with Cyborg, telling Mauro Ranallo on The MMA Show recently that she desired to put the dominant Brazilian fighter in her place and prove the point that great fighters don't need steroids to be great.

"I feel like anyone with half a brain isn't surprised," Rousey said of Cyborg's positive test. "I have mixed emotions of Cyborg being caught cheating because I know everyone knew she was cheating and I wanted to make an example of her because you don't need to take steroids to win. I think her getting caught is a great thing too. I don't have the least bit respect for her because I always knew she was a cheater, and now everyone else knows too. If she ever comes back to fight again, she won't be the same beast she was before. She might even try doing different things like HGH that are harder to get caught for. Who knows if Strikeforce even wants her back?"

Currently, Cyborg's future is unclear, as UFC president Dana White recently asserted that, in addition to her being stripped of her title and suspended for a year, she may not even have a featherweight division to return to.
