UFC Headed To Sweden For UFC On FUEL TV 2
By Dana Becker | January 04, 2012
UFC officials have confirmed what many have been reporting for several days now, as the fight organization will head to Sweden this year. UFC on FUEL TV 2 is scheduled to take place April 14 from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Already set for the card is a welterweight contest pitting DaMarques Johnson against John Maguire. This will make the first UFC event to be held in Sweden, and give them cards in four countries other than the U.S. during the early stages of 2012.
Alexander Gustafsson, who scored an impressive victory recently at UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem, is the top Swedish fighter signed to a UFC contract. Others with ties to the country include Papy Abedi and Akria Corassani.
