Brock Lesnar Doesn't Understand Questions About His MMA Desire

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has battled back from multiple bouts of diverticulitis, an intestinal disease that has forced him to work extra hard to take care of his body. So, why does the former WWE superstar still get questioned on if he has what it takes to be an MMA fighter? That's an answer Lesnar would like to know, as well.

"I don't know why people question the desire," said Lesnar, in a recent interview with ESPN.com. "What do I have to go through? What do I have to do? I like it. I like doing it. I'm not ready to be done. I've made a little bit of money here and there but at the end of the day, I think it's my identity. It's who I want to be."

Lesnar will step back inside the Octagon for the first time since last October when he meets Alistair Overeem in the main event of UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem this Friday night. The winner receives a championship match with Junior dos Santos in 2012. Even with Overeem his full focus, Lesnar has looked into what dos Santos brings to the cage.

"I think I am one of the best heavyweight fighters out there. I can honestly say that because I wouldn't be sitting here if it wasn't true," Lesnar said. "Junior has the belt but he's one power punch or one submission away from losing it. I'm going to go out and do the best job I can to put me in position to face Junior."
