Gegard Mousasi: After Moving My Camp To The U.S., I'm Gonna Rock It

Though following his recent victory over Ovince St-Preux, Strikeforce light heavyweight contender Gegard Mousasi seemed to think that he didn't deserve a rematch with Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal yet, The Dreamcatcher later told FightingFamousTV that he would actually very much like a chance to erase that loss."My only loss in a couple years has been against King Mo, so I would definitely like that fight, and especially if it's a title fight," said Mousasi, alluding to the talked about idea that King Mo and Mousasi should square off to fill the vacant light heavyweight title.
When Lawal fought Mousasi back in 2010, taking his title by unanimous decision, he was able to exploit the one area of Mousasi's game that is lacking: wrestling. The Iranian-born Armenian has fought out of Holland his entire life, a mecca for martial arts, but not necessarily wrestling. As a result, the 26-year-old told FightingFamous that he plans on moving his next training camp to the U.S. in search of more complete and varied training.
"For the next fight, I'm gonna train in the US. I think that's the main focus, getting in a better camp with good trainers. That's something that needs to be changed," he said. "I'm gonna train in LA, (at) Gokor (Chivichyan)'s, in Glendale (with Vic Darchinyan), especially, and maybe (with) Dan Henderson. I think I will get good sparring partners and good training."
Mousasi believes that moving Stateside will give him the chance to truly treat his career professionally and will thereby open the door for him to finally reach his full potential.
"I feel like I have a lot of potential but I don't get it out, everything that I can," said Mousasi. "I think training camp, trainers, sparring partners, nutrition, you name it all - what these guys have in the US. I think if I improve those things, I'm gonna rock it."
