KJ Noons Picking Melendez To Take Masvidal By Decision

Considering the depth of the Strikeforce lightweight division, KJ Noons could very well be one or two impressive wins away from a title shot. As such, he'll be keeping a close eye on the lightweight championship battle between champ Gilbert Melendez and Jorge Masvidal scheduled for tomorrow night.

Having fought Masvidal to a unanimous decision loss in his most recent outing, Noons has intimate experience with the challenger and recently predicted to FightHubTV that he believes Melendez has what it takes to defeat the underdog by decision.

"It's going to be close. I think it's going to go to a decision and I think Melendez," Noons predicted. "But, I like both guys and I think it's going to be an exciting fight."

Noons will be looking to end his two-fight losing streak when he meets Billy Evangelista on the same fight card that Melendez and Masvidal will square off on, Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal, which takes place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.
