Stanislov Nedkov Forced Off UFC 142 Card With Visa Issues
By Dana Becker | December 16, 2011
The planned Fabio Maldonado-Stanislav Nedkov bout scheduled for UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes has been called due to issues with Nedkov getting his visa. UFC 142 is set for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Jan. 14. It remains unclear if Maldonado will receive a new opponent or not for the event.
Nedkov captured his UFC debut earlier this year with a TKO victory over Luiz Cane. He is a perfect 12-0 in his career, with six victories coming by way of strikes.
Maldonado (18-4) dropped his last fight to Kyle Kingsbury by decision, halting an impressive 11-fight win streak of his own.
UFC 142 will be headlined by UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo defending his title in his native country against Chad Mendes. Vitor Belfort-Anthony Johnson is the co-main event.
