Arianny Celeste: Chael Sonnen Is Very Polite To Me Backstage

It's been clear for sometime that few were safe from controversial UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen's constantly flowing stream of insults. He'll attack fighters in different weight classes, promotions and even athletes from other sports, but it was still slightly strange when Sonnen began picking on ring card girls.

Shortly before hosting the FightersOnly World MMA Awards, Sonnen singled out Celeste in an interview with the Las Vegas Weekly, when he was asked who he'd vote for in the Ring Girl of the Year category.

"We only had one and that was Chandella [Powell]. The other was the IQ card girl. Arianny [Celeste] kind of walks around and holds up her latest test score," said Sonnen. "One time when there was a title fight, she got all the way up to five and we were very proud of her."

The two went back and forth after that over Twitter, both firing barbs at the other. Though she didn't hesitate to trade insults with Sonnen, Celeste recently explained to FightHubTV that she's confused by the mini-feud, but isn't paying it much mind.

"I don't give it too much thought, I know he's kinda just picking on me for - I don't really know why, because he's really polite to me behind-stage," said Celeste. "I actually thought he was a really nice guy, so, I mean, I can't take him seriously and I'm okay with poking fun at myself anyway. So, it's all good."
