M-1 Global Pushing For Fedor Vs. Velasquez; Dana White Says 'Hell No'

M-1 Global's Vadim Finkelstein sees Fedor Emelianenko as being right back inside the top-10 in terms of heavyweight fighters. That is why Finkelstein, in an interview with Russia's Championat.ru is pushing for a Fedor-Cain Velasquez bout to happen in 2012. As you can imagine, UFC president Dana White isn't on board with the idea.

"We are determined to move forward, and would like to offer the UFC a fight between Cain Velasquez and Fedor Emelianenko. M-1 Global would take full responsibility of organizing the fight sometime during 2012 in Moscow, Russia," said Finkelstein (thanks to LowKick.com for transcribing the Russian interview). "I can guarantee Dana White great revenue from this fight, and a record-breaking attendance. M-1 Global is ready for dialogue, and would be happy to consider an option of organizing such tournament with combined efforts. I will make an offer to 'my best friend' pretty soon, so we'll see what he has to say."

White's response, via Twitter, was, "Hell no!" to the offer.

Fedor recently halted a three-fight losing streak by earning a decision over Jeff Monson in Russia. Velasquez lost the UFC heavyweight title to Junior dos Santos at UFC on Fox 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos.
