According to MMAMania.com, middleweights Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz will headline UFC on FOX 2, which is scheduled for January 28 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Nothing has been confirmed by the UFC concerning the bout, but multiple reports have surfaced in the past few days, all pointing to a Sonnen-Munoz match.Sonnen called out UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva for a rematch after defeating Brian Stann earlier this year, however, Silva is currently sidelined due to a shoulder injury. Munoz stopped Chris Leben at UFC 138, scoring his fourth straight win since a loss to Yushin Okami.
The event would be the first as part of the new UFC-FOX Network contract that begins in 2012. UFC on Fox 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos was a special that FOX televised to generate interest in the UFC.
