Shogun Rua Feels Henderson Fight Was A Draw, Seeks Rematch

While everyone that witnessed Saturday night's UFC 139 main event fight between Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua remarked that no one went away a loser, unfortunately, that's not how it happened. Henderson was declared the victor, handing Rua a tough loss to swallow as the two former champions went toe-to-toe for 25 minutes.

UFC president Dana White was among those after that saw the bout as a draw, as "Hendo" dominated early before "Shogun" rebounded in the latter rounds. Rua, with plenty of bumps and bruises to show for, is hoping for a rematch down the road with Henderson.

"It certainly was a great fight. I do not know how the judges made the final round of counting, could or should have been 10-8 to me," said Rua. "But that takes nothing away from Dan Henderson. He is a legend and one of those fighters who have created a legacy. But I want revenge, I think it would be another great battle and the public wants to see."

Henderson looks to be on track to fight for the UFC light heavyweight title after his performance. "Hendo" was the Strikeforce 205-pound champion before resigning with the UFC earlier this year.
