UFC 139: Wanderlei Silva Vs. Cung Le

Round 1: Le comes out strong, throwing kicks and backing Silva up. Silva might have caught Le with a right hook as he pressed forward, but The Axe Murderer is taking his time and fighting patient. Le lands a spinning backfist that gave Silva pause. Le cracks Silva with another spinning backfist, this one drops him. Silva is hanging in there and Le is staying patient, throwing kicks from the outside. The action has slowed, Le stalking Silva down. Silva gets in and lands a few punches close. Le lands a 360 wheel kick to the chest, but Silva caught him with a good right hand counter. Le with a side kick. Le continually trying to land with a spinning back kick-back fist combo. Le is bleeding from the right eye. Silva starts in with some kicks, throwing it back with a head kick. Silva has Le hurt and he's walking him down with hard punches.

Round 2: Wanderlei slips after ringing a hard right hand. They reset and Le lands a front leg side kick with his right leg. He tries a spinning back kick but Silva gets out of the way. Silva with a body kick. Le cracks Silva with a right. Le with an axe kick. Silva hanging in there, lands a pair of counter hooks. Silva avoids a wheel kick and another spinning back fist. Silva nails Le with a right hook. The action has slowed, with Le possibly losing steam. Silva fires off a flurry of punches. A minute to go and Le throws a leg kick that's checked. Silva rushes forward with a volley of punches, dropping Le with a right hook. Le is keeping to his feet somehow, even after Silva starts in with vintage-form knees. Silva lands a head kick in the exchange. Silva is all over Le, beating him down with knees and punches. Le drops for the takedown after eating a hard knee. Silva lands some hammerfists and the ref unfortunately calls it a little early, though it did look unlikely that Le would recover.
