Former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin came under fire for comments he made on his Twitter account concerning rape this past week. Griffin, however, has done his best to save face, visiting a local Rape Crisis Center and making a donation on Thursday."I like to cause trouble, I like to stir the pot and I like to make a mess of things, but I really do not want to be mean or malicious to anyone," said Griffin, in an interview with ABC News. "I feel bad, I want to apologize, I feel like I should be punished a little bit."
Hannah Brook, the Executive Direct of the center Griffin visited, called the comment, "disgusting and insensitive." Griffin posted, "Rape is the new missionary," on his Twitter wall after seeing rape stories all over his television set. He was attempting to remark about rape stories becoming commonplace, but the post did not come over that way.
Griffin posted that he is putting himself on Twitter restriction until next week due to the fallout from his comments.
Should Griffin be suspended for his comments, or has he made amends in your eyes? Sound off in our new "Comments" section below.
