Carlos Condit Steps Aside, Georges St-Pierre To Face Nick Diaz Next

"Bring it on motherf***er! I don't think Georges [St-Pierre] is hurt, I think Georges is scared to fight everyone right now."

With those words, uttered by Nick Diaz after defeating BJ Penn at UFC 137 last night, the Stockton native side-stepped Carlos Condit to re-enter the UFC welterweight title picture. Diaz will now face the man he was originally supposed to meet at last night's event, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, at the UFC's Super Bowl event in February of 2012.

"This is what I wanted since the beginning," said St-Pierre. "Let's do what was supposed to be done originally. I've always wanted this fight -- now I want it even more. I can't wait for Superbowl weekend."

UFC President Dana White noted at last night's post-fight press conference that the champion "flipped out" after Diaz's comments, and plans to deliver "the worst beating you've ever seen on him."

"I've known Georges St-Pierre since 2004, and he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and he's exactly the same no matter what the situation is or who he's fighting," said White. "Since 2004, I've never seen him like he was tonight. Georges St-Pierre flipped out tonight after Nick Diaz was in the ring. Nick needs motivation – he's got it. He's gonna fight Georges St-Pierre. 'He's the most disrespectful human being I've ever met, and I'm gonna put the worst beating you've ever seen on him in the UFC,' that's what Georges St-Pierre said."

White stated that Condit, who was next in line to face the champion for the title, will now likely fight on the same Super Bowl card and will get the winner of the title fight if he is victorious.
