UFC 137: Brandon Vera Vs. Eliot Marshall

Vera with a hard one-two followed by a body kick. Looks like Vera wants to swing. Vera with a check kick, another. Marshall with a body kick. Vera lands a leg kick. Vera with a hard body kick, two punches and flying knee. Vera presses Marshall into the fence after that salvo. Vera separates. Marshall moves in with a frantic flurry, missing mostly but eventually landing a right hand that maybe stuns Vera. Vera closes the gap and presses Marshall into the fence. Vera lands a knee before the ref separates them and they take to the center again. Vera with an inside leg kick, then a leg kick as a Marshall backs up.

Round 2: Vera with another check kick to Marshall's knee, then two slapping leg kicks. Marshall lunges in but can't get off. Marshall succeeds in closing the distance but Vera tosses him to the side and lands a kick. Marshall tries for the single off the kick, but Vera defends well. Marshall keeps Vera against the cage and fights hard for the takedown; Vera continues to defend. Vera turns him and threatens with the takedown himself. Vera lands a very nice foot sweep, pinning Marshall's head against the fence and landing strikes. Vera landing elbows from half guard. Marshall gets to his feet and eats a knee to the body for his trouble. Vera keeping Marshall's back on the cage, landing the occasional knee. The ref separates them with under twenty to go.

Round 3: Vera keeping Marshall at bay with varied kicks. He lands a pair of punches when Marshall overcommits and leaves himself out of position. Marshall buckles Vera with a hard right hand. Vera grabs a leg and tries to hang on, but Marshall is all over him. Vera uses the threat of the takedown to keep protected and get to his feet, where he hammers Marshall with a kick. He eats another punch before getting hold of Marshall around the waist and pressing him into the fence. Vera recovering while holding Marshall against the cage. Two minutes to go and Marshall fights free. Marshall swings and misses and they engage in the clinch. Marshall gets Vera to the mat and takes his back against the cage. Marshall looking for the rear naked choke, but Vera defends. Marshall rolls for the armbar with just over thirty seconds, it looks deep, but Vera defends. Vera firing off elbows and punches from the top.

Vera mouths to Joe Rogan that his arm is broken from the armbar.
