Video: Matt Mitrione UFC 137 Pre-Fight Interview
By Mark Wayne | October 20, 2011
Matt "Meathead" Mitrione's has experienced a rapid rise through the UFC's heavyweight ranks; the 33-year-old's sixth professional MMA fight will come against seasoned competitor Cheick Kongo next weekend at UFC 137. A former professional football player, Mitrione finds himself in the night's co-main event (his first in that position on a pay-per-view card) thanks to Georges St-Pierre's injury-forced cancellation of the original main event, supporting the night's main offering, a welterweight tilt between BJ Penn and Nick Diaz.
Check out the video below to hear Mitrione's take on his newly-minted co-main event scrap with Cheick Kongo.
