The news of Georges St-Pierre's knee injury hit Carlos Condit like a bag of bricks. Now, Condit will wait for St-Pierre to heal up before taking his shot at the UFC welterweight championship.

Condit and St-Pierre were slated to meet in the main event of UFC 137 on October 29. Reports say the champion suffered a knee injury during training and was forced to pull out of the fight.

"The Natural Born Killer" doesn't plan on stepping inside the Octagon to face a replacement. Instead, he will continue training and get himself 100 percent healed and ready to go.

"I was ready to fight. The layoff isn't huge, but, you know, it's kind of a crappy situation all around," said Condit, in an interview with ESPN.com. "I have some small - I wouldn't even call them injuries - that come from training day in and day out, so I guess I have time to heal now. But I would rather have just fought through it."

Condit talked about a dream he had recently where St-Pierre was forced out of their fight and replaced by either BJ Penn or Nick Diaz. Penn-Diaz is now the main event, moving up from the co-main event position, for the card.

"The weird thing is, I had a dream the other night that Georges was out," Condit said. "It just came to mind. That is so weird, man. I dreamed I was at the event and Georges couldn't fight for some reason and they were changing my opponent to Diaz or BJ."
