With Title Shot Out Of Sight, Josh Koscheck Looking For 'Big Money' Fights

With division champ Georges St-Pierre holding two victories over him already, Josh Koscheck won't be getting a title shot again anytime soon. Knowing that, the 33-year-old isn't interested in jumping back in the pack just to fight his way to a title shot that may not be there for him; at this point in his career, he just wants to fight big names for big money and let the rest fall into place.

"I want to fight the guys at the top," Koscheck recently told MMANation. "That's where I want to be. The guys at the bottom want to fight guys that are at the top. So, I'll fight anybody. Realistically, I want a big fight, my next fight to be a big fight. Who could it be? Maybe a (Nick) Diaz, maybe a B.J. Penn, (Carlos) Condit, maybe someone at 185. There are a lot of good guys at 185, I'd definitely like to fight some of those guys. I want big names, big fights."

"I'm not gonna get a title shot anytime soon, unless GSP loses," he added. "We gotta be real on that. Now it's time to get paid. I'm just trying to fight as much as I can and hopefully get back there at the title shot one day. But if I don't, I'll just make money. That's what it's about."

Koscheck named Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort and Chris Leben as potential match-ups waiting for him at middleweight, making you wonder if he would consider making a run at the title in that division.

Kos last appeared in action at UFC 135 last month against UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes. Koscheck put away the former champ in the first round, getting one in the win column after having his orbital bone crushed in a defeat to St-Pierre late last year.
