PRELIMINARY CARD

Yves Jabouin vs. Ian Loveland

Round 1: Loveland takes Jabouin down after eating a hard kick to the face. Lovelandworking to pass guard and score with ground and pound, but Jabouin is keeping him from doing too much of significance. Jabouin repeatedly touching his left eye as Loveland postures up and lets off a few punches. The ref stops the action to fix loose tape on Loveland's glove and they restart on their feet. Jabouin lunges in with a lead left hook-leg kick combo. Loveland rushes in behind a cockeyed combination. Jabouin lands a good body kick. The action is staying fairly even on the feet, with both men finding moments of success. Jabouin barely misses with a spinning back kick. Loveland runs right into a big right hand that buckles his knees. Jabouin jumps in with a flying knee, but gets overzealous trying to finish and allows Loveland to grab hold of him.

Round 2: Loveland immediately drops for and completes the takedown. He takes half guard immediately, but Jabouin reverses and eventually puts Loveland on his back. Loveland reverses and takes mount. The crowd is briefly deafening. Jabouin escapes and gets to his feet. The crowd is unforgiving, growing restless with any lulls. Jabouin turning it on, he lands a hard spinning back kick to Loveland's gut. The action halts briefly for a low blow to Loveland. Loveland continuing to rush in behind awkward looking combos, while Jabouin looks to pick his shots. He does, landing clean with a spinning back fist. Loveland grabs an easy takedown and Jabouin flirts with the guillotine before fighting to his feet. Jabouin putting some heat on his strikes. He lands a good kick. Jabouin lands a good hook to the body and then a clean takedown of his own with ten seconds to go.

Round 3: They touch gloves for the final round and both men try to land hard. Loveland is swinging hard and often, but doesn't land. Jabouin knocks Loveland off-balance with a leg kick. Jabouin shucks Loveland off when he tries for a takedown. Jabouin hits another takedown but Loveland squirms out immediately. Loveland avoids another takedown by Jabouin. Jabouin lands with a spinning back fist and avoids a takedown. Jabouin throwing single shots now, Loveland looking gun shy. Jabouin stops another takedown. He's keeping Loveland at bay and tentative with a variety of kicks. Jabouin goes for the takedown and briefly gets Loveland down with thirty to go. Loveland moving forward now and Jabouin counters him with a hard right for it. Jabouin drives for a takedown at the bell.
