Krzysztof Soszynski Will Hang It Up When UFC Hangs Him Up

For 34-year-old Krzysztof Soszynski, retirement will come when the UFC doesn't renew his contract.

While currently recovering from another knee surgery, the former member of The Ultimate Fighter talked about his career and what is in his future recently.

"I've only been in this sport for eight years, and I started with absolutely nothing, and to get to this far was a really big stepping stone for me," Soszynski said. "Now I just look forward to seeing if I belong in the Top-10, hopefully one day make it in there and fight for the title."

"The Polish Experiment" is 6-2 in his last eight fights, including wins over notables such as Stephan Bonnar and Brian Stann.

But, a string of bad luck and tough losses can happen at any time to any fighter, and Soszynski (26-11) knows that as well as anybody.

"My career is going to end when the UFC ends my contract," the Canadian said. "If they don't want me to be a part of the organization anymore, then that's when I will end my career. I will not fight outside the UFC - that's where I want to finish my career and I've gotten this far through hard work and I'm hoping to at least put a few more years into it, as well."

There have been rumors of a potential Soszynski-Tito Ortiz fight in the future, as Soszynski continues to train to return to the cage. He has been out of action since defeating Mike Massenzio at UFC 131 by decision.
