UFC Working On Tito Ortiz-Rich Franklin Match

So, the obvious decision would be to put them against one another, right? According to UFC President Dana White, that might just be the case.

"I don't know yet, still working on fights for Tito," White said during an UStream event on Friday from Brazil. "But we do like the idea of Tito vs. Rich Franklin."

Ortiz (16-9-1) is taking some time off after fighting twice in just over a month. He submitted Ryan Bader at UFC 132, but was defeated by Rashad Evans at UFC 133 by TKO.

"The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" stepped in for Phil Davis to face Evans, taking the fight on short notice. The win over Bader snapped a losing streak that dated back to 2006.

Franklin (28-6) lost to Forrest Griffin at UFC 126 in February. He was slated to meet Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 133, but an injury to Nogueira cancelled the fight.

"The fans have talked about how they would be interested in that fight," Franklin told MMAWeekly.com. "It's something the fans have talked about being an entertaining fight, and if it's something the UFC wanted to put on, I'd be open to that."
