Stephan Bonnar Vs. Kyle Kingsbury Added To UFC 139
By Dana Becker | August 23, 2011
UFC 139 added a light heavyweight contest between Stephan Bonnar and Kyle Kingsbury to the card, UFC officials announced today. It is unknown if the fight will appear on the main card or the planned televised Spike TV prelims, or possibly Facebook, but it would seem with the name recognition of both a spot on television is almost guaranteed.
UFC 139 takes place November 19 in San Jose, California, from the HP Pavilion. A rumored heavyweight championship fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos is the planned main event.
Bonnar (13-7) was thought of as a possible opponent for the returning Josh Koscheck, as the two have had a verbal beef for the better part of the last year.
Instead, the original Ultimate Fighter runner-up meets a fellow TUF alum in Kingsbury (11-2).
Bonnar has won two straight, while Kingsbury enters with a five-fight win streak.
