Gilbert Melendez-Jorge Masvidal Targeted For December

According to reports, a Gilbert Melendez-Jorge Masvidal fight for the Strikeforce lightweight title is being planned for December 17.The venue for the event has not been confirmed.
Masvidal (22-6) has been discussed as the next challenger to Melendez (19-2) and his gold since Masvidal defeated K.J. Noons earlier this year.
Melendez continued his recent string of success by defeating Tatsuya Kawajiri by first round TKO at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley. He has been pushing to join the UFC, but will defend his title at least one more time in Strikeforce it would seem.
Masvidal is a perfect 4-0 in Strikeforce.
