Jonny 'Bones' Jones: Rashad Is 'A Jealous Snake'

The feud between Rashad Evans and Jon Jones is well documented and has been going strong ever since Jones stepped up in Evans' place to challenge Mauricio "Shogun" Rua for the belt this past March.

Jones said in an interview prior to fighting for the title that he'd be willing to defend it against Rashad, something that caught his Greg Jackson teammate off guard and kicked off a rivalry that would see Evans part ways with his long-time trainer Jackson and relocate to Florida at Imperial Athletics.

Evans was supposed to face Jones for the belt this summer/fall, but pulled out of the fight with a hand injury. After Evans had accepted a fight with former champion and decorated vet Tito Ortiz, it was learned that Jones' hand would not require surgery.

Now, Jones is gearing up to defend his title for the first time against former champ Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Evans just cemented his place as next in line with a second round finish of Tito Ortiz. With a collision between the two former training partners quite possibly on the horizon, neither man shows any desire to back off of the other.

Having traded barbs over the weekend following Evans' win over Ortiz, Jones took to his Twitter to relay a message to the public concerning Evans' character.

"Sometimes I feel like apologizing for whatever I did to him to make him hate me so much," wrote Bones. "He's says I betray him. I clearly said I would HATE to have to fight my teammate and the ONLY way it could ever possibly happen is if Dana would fire me over it. He used that to start calling me Judas and a @JacksonsMMA [traitor]. He was looking for an excuse to bring out his envy after I won the belt. He was never my friend, he's a jealous snake."
