Yahoo! MMA writer Dave Meltzer's The Wrestling Observer newsletter reports that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is in "serious negotiations" for a business relationship with WWE, according to a report on WrestlingINC.com.Lesnar's name was mentioned on WWE television this past Monday, when WWE star CM Punk mentioned both Lesnar and his former manager Paul Heyman -- who authored Lesnar's Death Clutch autobiography -- during an interview. Lesnar has been scarcely mentioned on WWE programming since his departure from the company in 2004.
Meltzer reports that both Heyman and Lesnar are in negotiations with the WWE. Apparently the deal is a merchandising agreement of some kind, and Lesnar will not be returning to the company as an on-air personality.
MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani wrote on his Twitter that "a consumer product deal" was being discussed, and a follow-up report on WrestlingINC.com noted that the deal may be a DVD project.
