Quick Shots: Barnett Withdraws License Application, Celeste On Your Wall, UFC Cut & Retirement -- Josh Gross of ESPN is reporting that Josh Barnett officially withdrew his license application with the California State Athletic Commission. According to Gross, because of the withdrawal, "CSAC can't sanction, suspend, fine Barnett. Matter is tabled unless Barnett asks for license in state requiring resolution of Calif. issues." He noted that "Coker & Barnett are playing system as it's designed," and that Barnett won't be able to fight in California, New Jersey, Nevada, and Ohio, amongst other states. He can fight in some other states like Georgia, Texas and Tennessee if he passes a drug test.

-- Apparently three times is a charm for Tim Hague. After suffering a first round TKO at the hands of Matt Mitrione at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 last weekend, the UFC released the Canadian heavyweight for the third time. He was fired for the first time after suffering losses to Todd Duffee at UFC 102 and Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109, and then let go after being on the wrong end of a decision loss to Joey Beltran at UFC 113. "After getting released from the UFC again today, I'm gonna take a little break away from MMA, let the brain heal from my concussion, and get the passion/fire back," Hague wrote on his Facebook page. "Even toying with the idea of trying a cut to 205 [pounds]. I will be back though, I'm only 27, and I will make it back to the UFC."

-- UFC welterweight Mike Guymon announced his retirement following his first round submission loss to DaMarques Johnson at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 last weekend. "It has been one hell of a ride," Guymon wrote on The Underground Forum. "I am so thankful to be part oif this sport for so long. I just can't fight anymore. The drugs I take for my depression effect me to much and I'm not the youngest guy either lo. I will be back on here lurking and laughing now that I am done fighting. For me it was to hard as a fighter to come onto any forums because the crap that is said sometimes. Me being an emotional fighter can read or hear 99 great things and hear the 1 bad thing somebody says and all I'd do is dwell on the 1 bad thing."
