Cathal Pendred Hopes The UFC Simply Hands Him A Contract

Cathal Pendred has been sitting around since June waiting for Cage Warriors to give him another title fight. The welterweight champ felt there weren’t many options to match his skill set and he’s hoping to land a spot on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), no matter how it happens.

“It’s happened before where guys go to the tryouts and don’t even go into the house,” said Pendred to MMA Sentinel. “They’re just handed a contract. That’s something I’m hoping will happen to me. Maybe they will just hand me a contract and I can get in on the Manchester card. We’ll see what happens.”

For Cage Warriors, Pendred has four wins and serves as their welterweight champion. He took three decisions before a doctor stoppage at Cage Warriors 55.

TUF returns on September 4 with male and female bantamweights. UFC Champ Ronda Rousey and No. 1 contender Miesha Tate will be the coaches.
